South Asian (India, Bangladesh, etc) Companies/Freelancers: try this technique to get more customers

It is well known that South Asian (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, etc…) companies and freelancers have quickly taken over the world of IT and digital/internet marketing. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any outsourcing website that does not have a ton of great people from India offering SEO or some other marketing work.

I get many messages offering digital marketing work from India specifically, and I also find a lot of foreign digital marketing talent on outsourcing websites such as FIverr, Freelancer, and UpWork.

And as someone studying copywriting, there is one obvious update the majority of the pitches from South Asian Companies/Freelancers can make to get more customers…

The messages tend to look like this:

***

So to get straight to the point, what is the one simple technique? What is something missing from most of the sales messages from South Asian companies?

They don’t talk about the benefits or what all of those “activities” do. There is usually a big ol’ list of skills or actions you will take.

Most copywriters/salespeople/marketers know the idea that spouting out features is only useful in certain situations. But to really draw the customer in…

you’re going to want to talk about the benefits and “what it does.”

The action here, for South Asian Companies/Freelancers isn’t even about improving grammar (which is a big challenge for non-English speakers). It is simply about adding benefit or “what it does” statements.

Because not everyone knows what:

– Removing Broken Links does
– SEO Friendly means
– On page or Off page SEO does
– Meta tag updates mean for the customer
and more…

Now if you are a regular on BHW or have studied internet marketing for even a month, you probably know what a lot of those “things do.” And you might say, “well customers are smart, and they want to see exactly what skills we have…”

Or maybe you assume that the only people buying the services are people who know the digital marketing terms… But sometimes it might just be a philosophy/theatre double major who wants to start a blog and make money from it, and all they want to do is write.

Or maybe it’s someone who wants to teach people how to make videos, and has little sense of all those fancy digital marketing terms…

So if we believe in the concepts developed by some of the worlds top copywriters and salespeople: to talk about benefits (or what a feature does), then here is the actionable takeaway.

For every “skill,” add a benefit statement, or combine skills together, and talk about the benefits, and it can look something like this…

Instead of:

SEO Friendly
Fast Crawling
Keyword Research
Meta tags updation (title & Description tags)
Image Optimization (alt tags)
Resolve Webmaster Crawl Errors

You can do:

SEO Friendly – BETTER Search Engine Rankings
Fast Crawling – Search engines find your website easier
Keyword Research – MORE customers will find you!
Meta tags updation (title & Description tags) – Get More Search Traffic
Image Optimization (alt tags) – SEARCH ENGINES can find you through your photos!
Resolve Webmaster Crawl Errors – MAKE Your website work better and your customers will love you for it!

Or you can try:

Our services will help your website:

+ Rank Better on Search Engines
+ Get found more easily, more viewers, and therefore more potential customers
+ Improve the overall efficiency of your website so you keep your visitors on your website!

Then for those technical people who happen to want to know your services, you can always tell them later, or list them…

But don’t forget the benefits, or “what your skill does for your customer” when they pay for your service.

Happy marketing.
